What does a girl do when she gets invited to the launch of
People StyleWatch and the JustFab shoe collaboration? She runs to the event in her best 'Carriesque' fashion hoping for a glimplse of the latest in shoe style.
I love shoes as much as the next obsessed girl. I have too
many to count flowing from my closet to the crevices under my desk appropriately hidden from
judgement. I love the way it feels when I first put on a heel, how it makes me
stand up straight and elongates my midsection. In the same regard comfort is key (I do have three children after all) so I
always keep a pair of flats on hand to ease the pain of my weary arches and aching
back. Tall to short, prints to solid I do not discriminate (except for satin- like who in the hell thought that was a good idea?).
The event was held at Toro in Chelsea and as I passed
the breezy corner off the West Side Highway and entered into the moody lit
space I knew I was home. A wonderland full of willowy trees with shoes hanging
from branches and grassy knolls full of gem filled flats on the bar. The only thing missing
was my prince. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to
kiss the shoes.
