I'm not off that often and usually that is because we are so slammed at work that I can't fit it in a few days much less a whole week. Yesterday and today I was off however I was off and while I still feel I didn't get to accomplish everything, I did get to knock a few items off my list.
Yesterday, I took my 3 year old (finally) to the Ear Nose and Throat specialist for her abnormally large tonsils. I don't know if anyone reading this has had to remove their toddler's tonsils but I was slightly freaked out that the doctor would suggest this so I'm sure that played a part in my delay in making the appointment. They are really large, and she does snore but the doc says unless it worsens she's fine.
Today, I took my 1 yr. old to the pediatric cardiologist to review a hole in his heart and some pulmonary turbulence he'd had when he was born-don't ask me the actual name of they gave me cuz Lord knows I don't remember (is that bad?). Thankfully he got a clean bill of health and he does't need any further treatment.
Today I also got to make dinner for my family (curry shrimp, green peas, rice and baked chicken) which rarely happens in the middle of the week. I just love the look on their faces when they know they have a fresh hot meal on the stove.
The latter part of the evening was followed by family movie night with a 'screener aka bootleg' copy of a newly released kids film that should remain nameless and popcorn.
The kids got to stay up an extra hour and I got to enjoy them a bit more than usual. I sure wish I could afford a 4-day work week on a regular basis...I would so jump at that.
But alas...that is not my reality. For now I can be 'Holly Homemaker' every once in a while.
Next day off however is all about ME-and I'm not going to feel guilty about that!
